What`s on - The symphonic concerts

The Lodz Philharmonic Symphonic Orchestra has 93 musicians. However, this is not always the case that you will see all of the artists on stage: the layout depends on the age and style of the presented works. Many concerts take place with a  small number of orchestra members however sometimes the repertoire requires a bigger orchestra. Daniel Raiskin, the orchestra’s chief conductor,  is responsible for the fulfilment of the orchestra’s artistic potential. He is also supported  by Grzegorz Wierus, the assistant conductor. The musicians are also inspired in their work by other guest conductors visiting the Lodz Philharmonic. The conductors who cooperated with our orchestra include among many others: Łukasz Borowicz, Krzysztof Urbański, Carlo Montanaro, Enrico Delamboye, Dmitri Liss, Muhai Tang, Wojciech Michniewski, Karel Mark Chichon, Michal Dworzynski, Ingo Metzmacher.
The Philharmonic also hosts other great bands, including The National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Iuventus Sinfonia, 18th Century Orchestra and the Polish Radio Orchestra.
Lodz Philharmonic also tours in other towns of the region: the concerts have reached Wielun, Uniejow, Warta and Skierniewice. In 2006, the orchestra and the choir took part in Warsaw festival ‘The music of Prague’  (Prague is the name of one of Warsaw districts). The artists have an extensive experience of touring abroad: they have been invited to almost all European countries and Israel, China and the United States.  The orchestra also accomplished several original projects, including performing live music during the screening of films such as ‘A Space Odyssey’ and ‘Peter and the Wolf’.
