Managing Director
director of The Lodz Philharmonic Touring Festival ‘Colours of Poland’: Tomasz Beben

 

Tomasz Bęben Tomasz Bęben is a graduate of the Music Academy in Łódź. Since 2001, he has worked for the Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic, where he has held a number of positions, beginning with specialist for organization and programming, going on to manager of the Concert Coordination Office, then manager of the newly established Department of Development and Advertising, acting Deputy Director for Development, to finally being appointed acting General Director.
Tomasz Bęben created a festival called “Music Summer in Sieradz” (1999–2001), which he later renamed “The Colours of Poland” and brought to the Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic (2002). Subsequently, working with a group of enthusiastic collaborators at the Philharmonic, he transformed it into “The Colours of Poland Touring Festival of the Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic.” He has remained Director of the festival, which was awarded the 2007 Certificate for the Best Tourism Product of the Łódź Province by the Polish Tourism Organization in recognition of the innovative way of combining tourism with culture. In 2011, “The Colours of Poland” festival won another distinction at the 5th Promotion of Cities and Regions Festival—the “Golden Format Award” in the “Event” category.
In 2002–2009, Tomasz Bęben was responsible, among others, for creating the image and promoting the brand of the Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic as well as for its information policy and formulating a model of the Philharmonic’s presence in Łódź province.
In 2009, he was given the Professional Manager of Łódź Province Award by the Club of Professional Managers attached to the Łódź Branch of the Scientific Society for Organization and Management. He has been awarded the “Cultural Merit Award” and the “Sabina Nowicka Pro Publico Bono Medal” by the Society of Friends of Łódź.

 

 

Artistic Director: Lech Dzierzanowski  

 

Lech Dzierżanowski A Pianist and a manager – Lech Dzierzanowski holds the position of Managing and Artistic Director of The Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra in Lodz. He graduated from The F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (Academy of Music at that time) and studied in Andrzej Stefanski’s piano class (1984). Lech Dzierzanowski won the Polish Piano Festival in Slupsk and performed in concert halls in Poznan, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Jelenia Gora. He made recordings for The Polish Radio, TV and for Polskie Nagrania. In the years 1989-2001, he was Jerzy Maksymiuk’s agent, arranged his concert tours across Poland. In 1991-1994, he organized a series of concerts - “Chamber Music Masterpieces” for Galeria na Prowincji − a foundation in Lublin. From 1996-2002, he worked with The Warsaw Philharmonic where since 1997 he was appointed to the Director of the Promotion Department. From 2003-2006, he worked as office manager of The Witold Lutoslawski Society. He has also collaborated with many non – governmental organizations, including: The Concert Spirituels Foundation, The Polish Culture Foundation, The Polish Composers’ Union, The Warsaw University Foundation, and The Fryderyk Chopin Institute. He is a co –author of a series of multimedia publications released by Noyamundi publishing house: ‘Witold Lutoslawski – twórcze życie’ (‘Witold Lutoslawski – a creative life), ’50 lat Warszawskich Jesieni’ (’50 Years of Warsaw Autumn’) and ‘Karol Szymanowski’. He has been cooperating with The Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra in Lodz since 2007. Since June 2008, he held the position of Deputy Director for Development.

 

 

 

Deputy Engineering Manager: Elzbieta Latek

 

Elżbieta Latek Elzbieta Latek has been in the position of Deputy Engineering Manager in The Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic in Lodz since April 2001. After graduating from Technical University of Lodz with MSc in Construction (1980) her career was connected with her education background. From 1980 – 2001 she worked as a construction manager, technical specialist, assembly production manager, chief engineer in Budopol Lodz – Public Facility Construction Company . She participated in the construction of major facilities including: hospitals in Sieradz, Pabianice and Zgierz, The Clinical and Didactical Centre of Medical Academy in Lodz (Medical University today), Branch of PKO SA Bank at Reymont Square in Lodz, the fire brigade headquarters in Lodz, the Parliament House in Warsaw, the swimming pool in Zgierz, residential buildings and others. She supervised the entire construction of the current headquarters of The Lodz Philharmonic Orchestra (since 2001).
